9月27日（土）、合同会社山立会、石川県立大学動物生態学研究室、石川県哺乳類研究会の主催で開催された「石川シカ対策シンポジウム」を、当協議会も後援しました。
シンポジウムには行政、研究者、猟友会、民間事業者が一堂に会し、石川県と福井県のシカの現状と対策について活発な議論が交わされました。
議論の中で、まず白山国立公園を含む生態系へのシカの影響が指摘され、自然環境を守るための早急な対策の必要性が強く訴えられました。また、合同会社山立会の、捕獲したシカをジビエとして活用し地域経済につなげる取り組みが、資源を活かす持続可能なモデルとして紹介されました。
講演とパネルディスカッションの間の休憩時間には、実演で揚げたての鹿カツの試食が行われたほか、猟具や罠の展示解説、ジビエ製品の販売も行われ、参加者同士の交流が見られました。
後半のパネルディスカッションでは、多分野の関係者が連携した体制整備の必要性という共通の課題意識が共有されました。
シカの増加は、生態系への影響や農林業被害など、重要な課題です。白山ユネスコエコパークとしても、意識の共有を図っていきたいと考えています。

We Supported the “Ishikawa Deer Management Symposium”
On Saturday, 27 September, the “Ishikawa Deer Management Symposium,” hosted by Yamadachikai LLC, the Wildlife Ecology Laboratory of Ishikawa Prefectural University, and the Ishikawa Mammal Research Society, was held with the support of our Council.
The symposium brought together government officials, researchers, hunting associations, and private-sector organisations for active discussions on the current situation and management of deer in Ishikawa and neighbouring Fukui.
During the discussions, participants first highlighted the impact of deer on ecosystems, including those of Hakusan National Park, stressing the urgent need for measures to protect the natural environment. Yamadachikai also presented its initiative to utilise culled deer as game meat and link this to the local economy, introducing it as a sustainable model for making effective use of natural resources.
During the break between the lecture session and the panel discussion, participants were able to sample freshly fried venison cutlets prepared on-site, and displays of hunting equipment and traps, as well as sales of meat products, helped encourage exchange among attendees.
In the latter half of the symposium, a shared understanding emerged of the need to build a coordinated framework that brings together stakeholders from multiple fields.
The increase in deer populations poses a major challenge, including impacts on ecosystems and damage to agriculture and forestry. As the Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve, we will continue to work to raise awareness of this issue.
