11月18日（火）に、白川村にて、「第6回白山ユネスコエコパーク・地域づくり交流会2025」を開催しました。
本交流会は、環白山地域の住民交流と連携強化を目的とし、エリア内の市村を巡回しながら開催しています。今回は、「国際ユネスコエコパークの日」（11月3日）を記念した事業としても実施しています。
はじめに、重要文化財の旧遠山家住宅で「遠山家ご飯プロジェクト」による昼食をいただきながら、参加者同士で交流しました。
午後の部では、高崎経済大学准教授の嘉瀬井恵子氏より、「白山ユネスコエコパークエリアのほんこさん料理に学ぶ 暮らし・植生・仏教の交わるところ」と題するご講演をいただき、地域の食文化を通じて、白山エリアのつながりについて学びました。
その後、荻町集落に移動し、白川村の方から、白川村独自の文化や世界遺産でもある同集落の現状と課題についてお話を伺い、白山ユネスコエコパークエリアの地域づくりについて考えました。
次回の交流会は、白山市での開催を予定しております。

6th Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve Community Building Exchange Meeting 2025
On November 18, we held the “6th Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve Community Building Exchange Meeting 2025” in Shirakawa Village.
This event aims to promote community exchange and strengthen cooperation among the residents of the larger Hakusan area. The meeting is held in various towns and villages within the area. This year’s event was also part of the celebrations for “International UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Day” (November 3).
The day began with a lunch provided by the “Toyama Family Meal Project” at the historically significant Old Toyama Family House, where participants had the opportunity to connect with each other.
In the afternoon, Associate Professor Keiko Kasai of Takasaki University of Economics gave a lecture titled “Learning from Honkosan Cuisine in the Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve Area: Where Life, Vegetation, and Buddhism Converge.” Through the region’s culinary traditions, we gained insight into the deep connections of the Hakusan area.
Afterward, we moved to Ogimachi Village, where local residents shared details about the unique culture of Shirakawa Village and the challenges facing the world heritage-listed village today. This conversation sparked a discussion on community-building in the Mount Hakusan Biosphere Reserve area.
Our next exchange meeting is planned to be held in Hakusan City.
