科学技術分野の文部科学大臣表彰は、科学技術に関する研究開発、理解増進などにおいて顕著な成果を収めた者について、その功績をたたえることにより、科学技術に携わる者の意欲の向上を図り、我が国の科学技術水準の向上に寄与することを目的として、文部科学省が毎年実施しているものです。

萌芽的な研究，独創的視点に立った研究など，高度な研究開発能力を示す顕著な研究業績をあげた40歳未満の若手研究者を表彰
ママードウァ アイーダ 国際日本研究教育センター 准教授
［業績名］日本のエコパークとジオパークの世代間学習の研究
日本のユネスコ生物圏保存地域（エコパーク）およびユネスコ世界ジオパークでは、少子高齢化が進み地域活性化と環境保全の両立が課題となっています。特に，地域の持続可能な発展には，若者と高齢者の協働と住民の参画が求められます。
アイーダ准教授は，これらの地域を活用し、留学生向けESD（持続可能な開発のための教育）を実施しました。450名以上の留学生が住民と学び、住民が「先生」として知識を伝える仕組みを構築したほか、自治体と協働し村全体が「大学」として機能する新たな学習モデルを創出しました。
本研究成果は，地域住民のエンパワーメントを促進し、持続可能な地域発展の新たなモデルを確立するものとして国際的に高く評価されています。また、本研究はUNESCO-Japan ESD賞を受賞し、今後より多くの地域で応用ができると期待されます。

Congratulations! Associate Professor Aida Mammadova of Kanazawa University, received the 2025 Young Scientists’ Prize!

Associate Professor Aida Mammadova of the International Center for Research and Education of Japan Studies, Kanazawa University, is one of the members of our academic council. This year she won the 2025 Young Scientists’ Prize of the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is given annually by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to honor individuals who have made outstanding achievements in research and development and promotion of understanding of science and technology, thereby motivating those engaged in science and technology and contributing to raising the level of science and technology in Japan. The award is given annually by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology MEXT of Japan.
<Young Scientists Award>
The award recognizes young scientists under 40 years of age who have made outstanding research achievements that demonstrate a high level of research and development ability, including research from a budding or original perspective.
Aida Mammadova of the International Center for Research and Education of Japan Studies
Project Title: “Research on intergenerational learning in Japanese biosphere reserves and geoparks”
In Japan’s Biosphere Reserves and UNESCO Global Geoparks, the challenge is to balance regional revitalization and environmental conservation as the birthrate declines and the population ages. In particular, the sustainable development of these areas requires collaboration between young people and the elderly and the participation of local residents.
Associate Professor Aida took advantage of these areas to implement ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) for international students, where more than 450 international students studied with local residents and established a system in which residents acted as “teachers” to pass on their knowledge. The results of this research were used to develop a new learning model in which the entire village functions as a “university.
The results of this research have been highly evaluated internationally as promoting the empowerment of local residents and establishing a new model for sustainable regional development. This research also received the UNESCO-Japan ESD Award and is expected to be applied in many more communities in the future.
